The month of September is simply buzzing with activity in the blogging world with various fall challenges (of the gothic/scary variety) and read-alongs (also of the same variety) taking place. October looks like it is going to be just as full and exciting.
And I’m envious. I really am! I haven’t committed to taking part in any of the excitement for these two months because my second baby is due in the middle of next month, and I really don’t fancy reading dark stuff in my final month. As things are I tend to get depressed quite often, driving my poor husband up the wall, and being just a wee bit too impatient with my little son who is really a gem of a little man who isn’t any real trouble at all!
I’ve been trolling the blogosphere looking for some sort of read-along or something that I could take part in that does not require me to read anything dark and that is likely to end by the first week of October. However, I haven’t been successful in the least. I did try to join a Wuthering Heights read-along that began at the beginning of this month, but a few chapters into it I realised this simply was not a book I ever wanted to read (note to self: scratch it off The Classics Club list).
So, I finally decided to host a read-along myself. Something that is light. And something that can be finished by the end of September or beginning of October.
What do you folk think of Little Women? I know there are a few from The Classics Club who have this book on their list, and I’m really eager to re-read this. It’s been a long while!
Please do vote on this mini poll so that I might know if there is anyone interested in reading this book with come September 14th.
